As National Dog Day approaches, you might be gearing up for a trip to the beach, a hiking trail, or the nearby dog park to join in the celebrations. Fortunately, this week, King Kia of Laurel is here to offer you valuable advice on traveling with your furry friend. Check out the tips provided below to ensure your journeys with your pup are smoother. And if it’s been a while since your vehicle had its last service, make sure to schedule a service appointment today – it’s your ticket to skipping the queue when you visit later!
King Kia of Laurel’s Pet Travel Checklist:
Lead, Collar, Leash, and ID tag:
- The last thing you want to happen is your dog to run off in a place they don’t know. So, make sure you keep your dog on their leash unless you’re in a leashless allowed area with an identification tag that has your phone number on it just in case!
Food, water, bowls:
- Pups need to stay hydrated too! Especially if you’re both going out to do lots of activities!

Doggy baggies:
- Bring waste disposable bags and be responsible for your pets “droppings”.
Crates and restraints:
- Even if your dog is usually a happy traveler, it isn’t safe for them to roam freely throughout the car, in the case of an accident.
Toys!!!:
- Always bring along a ball or tug of war toy to really get out all that extra energy your pup may have so that they’ll be ready to crash and relax later!

Warranties include 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain and 5-year/60,000-mile basic. All warranties and roadside assistance are limited. See retailer for warranty details.
